This season has brought on some challenges that we have to find a resolve for to continue our legacy here at Snake River BMX. This year our local bike shops have changed ownership. The property that the track is on is owned by the previous owner of the bike shops. He wants the organization to purchase the land. We are working with him to attain this, but it forces... us to make a few changes starting this season. We have found that with our previous years revenue we will need to increase entry fees for our single point trophy races to $10, we will leave the ribbon race fee at $5 tho. We decided to add a few more races this season, and we changed the registration and race time for Saturday races to 3-4. Over the years we have had this time change requested as in the spring and fall there are many families that participate in other sports that have games in the mornings. We are hoping that by making these changes it will allow more local kids to participate in our program, and allow more point chasing out of towners to attend our Saturday races, as well as get us out of the freezing morning temps in the spring as we are starting a whole month earlier than last year. We moved practice night to Wednesday nights from Tuesdays. this reason was to avoid the confusion we had with practice vs ribbon races that we were seeing the past 2 seasons. We will be making some changes in the snack shack this year too, adding some more items, and a few new faces. This season we are hosting 2 very large weekend events this summer and we are striving to make them the very best experience possible. We are just a couple of hundred miles from several tracks and have really been pushing the networking to pull in as many of these folks here as possible. We hope to bring in at least 60+ motos with over 300 riders. Because of this we will be bringing our track designer back this season to make a few changes and add an expert section to our track for the older and more experienced kids to have more of a challenge. We will be treating the track this season with a chemical that will help us to eliminate water damage, wind damage, and keep the track in tip top shape. We have quite a few other items that we are working on as well but I wont go into them at this time. We are really going to be asking the riders to help more this season with track maintenance, and help us to pursue some fund raising and new rider recruiting. Last season we finished the 2010 season with 200 riders, and ranked 17th in the western region. this next season we hope to finish in the top 10! With everyone's help we will achieve these goals. We are flexible enough that if the changes are not working we will look into making adjustments. We are very excited to get this season under way and look forward to seeing you all this year at the track, and we thank you for your continued support! SEE YOU AT THE TRACK SRBMX :)
